The village

Calpamayo is a Peruvian village located on the Andes, 3500 meters above sea level and relatively difficult to access, the village is four hours drive from the city of Coracora (County of Ayacucho) and around 24 hours from the capital Lima.

The 500 inhabitants that populate the community are very active : its economy is based on agriculture, cattle breeding and the trading of local products.

The problem

Calpamayo and its region are not immune to globalisation and the effects of climate change. Indeed the challenges that younger generations will face in the near future will be mostly related to climate change, conserving their ecological assets, manage waste, develop the potential of the city and use to their advantage the potential of solar energy.
